Eid, Jackson Heights Station, 9:00 P.M.
If you are a Teabagger, and you think Muslims are not a part of this country, then your head is in the sand.
This is what the busiest station in Queens looks like on a Friday night when Muslims are on holiday.
Granted, this year Rosh Hashanah fell on the same day as Eid, but whatever the case, I have NEVER seen this station so empty. Not even late at night.
My point is that immigrants, all immigrants, have been an integral part of this country, for better or for worse. So far, immigration has been a strength, not a weakness, and no matter what a few knuckle-draggers say, it is not hurting us economically or socially. Quite the contrary, immigration keeps making this country a rich and vibrant place to live.
